This global child welfare and advocacy organisation was established more than 70 years ago to provide emergency food and healthcare to mothers and children in need. Since 1950, its mandate has been to address the long-term needs of children and women in developing countries everywhere. It has a presence in 190 countries, working on multi-year programmes in co-operation with host governments to achieve its goals.
This organisation requires an outstanding individual to assist in the day-to-day financial management of the organisation through keeping records up-to-date, including monitoring transactions and maintaining the balance sheet.
You will also prepare regular or on-spec financial reports as and when required, including being the gatekeeper for spotting unusual/excessive spending. Additionally, you will assist the finance manager in preparing budget statements for review, including calculating projected costs for projects as required.
On a daily basis, you will have to take charge of regular correspondence and maintain good contact with the relevant parties on accounting-related matters, while becoming the initial point of contact for local financial institutions regarding the organisation’s accounts.
The ideal person will have completed secondary education, and obtained professional/university level courses in Accounting and Finance/Business administration.
You will have a minimum of five years’ of clerical experience in the area of finance and accounting, and be fluent in written and spoken English.
